Midway Athletic Association Volleyball Seasons
The Midway Athletic Association offers Fall and Spring seasons for volleyball. To register, athletes must live within the Midway Elementary district.
Important Registration Information: To play, you must upload your child’s birth certificate to their profile on the MAA website during registration. If this is not completed, you will receive a refund at the start of the season, and your child will not be allowed to play. If you need help with this process, please email for assistance.
News & Notes:
- Any child participating in middle school volleyball will be ineligible to play for Midway.
- The closing date for Spring registration is 2/29/2024, but it may be extended if the season is delayed to allow time for middle school tryouts.
- This season, volleyball eligibility will be expanded to include 10th graders (born after 8/31/2007).
- Practice will tentatively start the week of 3/4.
- There will be two practices a week until games begin, then one practice per week during game weeks.
- Games are estimated to start the week of 3/18 but may change.
- The tournament is tentatively scheduled for the week of 5/20.
- Junior League (JL) games are on Tuesday/Thursday, and Little League (LL) games are on Monday/Wednesday.
Age Requirements:
- Little League (9-10 years old/4th-5th grade): Any girl is eligible if she is 9 years of age on or before August 31 and not 11 years of age on or before August 31 of the playing year and is attending school in 4th-5th grade.
- Junior League (11-13 years old/6th-8th grade): Any girl is eligible if she is 11 years of age on or before August 31 and not 14 years of age on or before August 31 of the playing year and is attending school in 6th-8th grade. *5th graders may play in this league based upon program needs and director discretion*
- Senior League (14-17 years old/9th-12th grade): Any girl is eligible if she is 14 years of age on or before August 31 and not 18 years of age on or before August 31 of the playing year and is attending school in 9th-12th grade. *8th graders may play in this league based upon program needs and director discretion*
- If you have a 3rd grader (8 or older), they maybe eligible to participate based upon program needs and evaluation. To participate early, you will need to reach out to me to see if there is a program need and then we will schedule an evaluation to ensure she is ready to play and can compete against 5th graders safely. This is the first year of this, so I am planning to evaluate during the Fall season and allow them to play in the Spring but they maybe able to play in the Fall. Once again, their ability to participate will be based upon the director and coaches’ approval solely. The decision we make is final and if this becomes a point of contention, we will remove the option.
